Episode 05 - Xuthal of the Dusk (Or, What Happens in Xuthal, Stays In Xuthal)

Journey back with us. Back that is, to the Hyborian Age, and hear tell of the days of high adventure, when Conan the Cimmerian journeyed far and wide in search of treasures, fame, and glorious battle!

This week, we're discussing the fifth Conan story published by Robert E. Howard in the September 1933 issue of Weird Tales (Download mp3 here). This issue was the cover story for Weird Tales that month, a very not safe for work image from Margaret Brundage. (Found here.)

We think this story fits neatly within the Cthulhu mythos - at least it feels like Lovecraft's influence is there! What do you think?

We'll be back in two weeks with the next story, The Pool of the Black One. (Read it on WikiSource!)
